Skeletal-System

The skeletal system is the collection of all the bones in the human body. A full grown and healthy human skeleton consists of 206 bones. Bones come in various different sizes and shapes, and each bone is designed for a specific function. The skeleton plays different physiological roles and has an incredible importance for the maintenance of the human body. Firstly, the skeleton protects the brain and the rest of the organs in the body. There are also many muscles attached to the skeleton, which makes movements of the bones possible. The skeleton also shapes the body and allows humans to retain their posture. The human skeleton also stores minerals and participates in the production of blood cells.
